About

Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you.

Anthony Bourdain

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness

The journey not the arrival matters

Hey There!

Thank you for visiting my website.

I am Meghraj – my friends call me Megh. I was born in India and have spent almost a decade in Singapore and another fourteen years (and counting) in the United Kingdom. I have been calling London my home since 2006.

In 2016, I took time off from work and then spend 20 months on the road, travelling across parts of Africa and the Americas. My love for exploration started well before that. In 2007, before I joined business school, I spent three months in Australia covering most of the country and then in 2009, I covered more of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. I try to explore as much as I can while trying to balance my professional goals and my exploration desires.

CRAVE Journey was created in 2016 before I went to Africa. I wanted my exploration to be more than a bucket list, a check list, mitigation for FOMO and so on. I wanted my exploration to be meaningful and thus started this blog and my subsequent travels.

The featured post on “Philosophy of Exploration” explains more of my thoughts. Please have a read.

Here on my blog, you are going to get my perspectives on my travels. It is not designed to help you plan your travels. I want this blog to serve two purposes

  1. Give you my perspectives and opinions on the places I explore.
  2. Be a conduit of information to educate like minded explorers on the vast beauty (and darkness) of our world – our planet, we call Home: Mother Earth

In the Exploration Section, I detail my travels: My experiences, my emotions, my ideas and my connections

In the Education Section, I provide factual information, obtained from multiple sources, to give you a short summary on a diverse set of elements within our world.

I am working towards becoming completely nomadic inspired by historical figures such as Ibn Battuta, Marco Polo and recent explorers Gunter.

I am fascinated by the idea of slow, immersive travel exploring the different aspects of our world: History, Culture, Food, Art, Architecture, Social Issues, Politics and more.

I am hoping to be completely nomadic by 2023.
