- It was founded in Iran in 1863, making it one of the youngest religions in the world
- The faith was proclaimed by a young Iranian, who called himself The Báb. He said that a messenger would arrive from God, who would be the latest in a line of prophets including Moses, Muhammad and Jesus Christ
- The central idea of the faith is that of unity. They believe that people should work together for the common benefit of humanity
- The writings of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh are regarded as Divine Revelation. The writings of Abdu’l-Bahá are recognised as sacred.

In India, we have the Lotus Temple in the capital, New Delhi. The Temple is part of the Baháʼí Faith. I had no idea till I went to Israel and was introduced to the faith. Religion has played a pivotal role in shaping human history. I am atheist (sometimes agnostic) and so the practice of religion doesn’t appeal to me. But I have respect for many religions around the world though one can’t ignore the amount of blood that has flown (even today) in the name of religion.
